PUBLIC OUTREACH
Throughout the CMP process various public relations tools and techniques were used to inform the public of meetings and updates.
Press releases were used and public notices posted throughout communities along the corridor.

PUBLIC MEETINGS

A series of local public meetings were held during April 2010 in Hurricane, Springdale, Rockville, Virgin and LaVerkin.  These meetings provided a forum for the planning team to explain the purposes of the Corridor Management Plan (CMP) and allow local residents to identify, locate, and describe meaningful intrinsic values along the corridor.

The National Scenic Byways program was summarized and the concept of intrinsic qualities was be explained.  Participants took take part in a fun and educational mapping exercise to locate important intrinsic qualities along the corridor. Important values identified at these meetings are serving as the backbone for this planning effort.
